GADSDEN COUNTY — School district officials told the Gadsden County School Board that the district’s current graduation cohort includes 318 students and outlined a multi-pronged plan to raise the graduation rate by finding students who have withdrawn and supporting students who remain enrolled.
School officials presented data Wednesday showing 318 students in the 2021–22 adjusted cohort. Of those, 242 remained actively enrolled, 15 had graduated early in prior years, and 51 were listed as “negative withdrawals” — students whose withdrawal codes cause them to count as nongraduates. "Right now, we have an adjusted cohort of 318 students," said Doctor Holmes, the district staff member who presented the data. "If we were to graduate, we would have 62% of our students that are graduation ready."
