Advisers confirmed that nine Cape Coral Youth Council members will attend the Florida League of Cities Youth Council Legislative Action Days and reviewed travel logistics at the March 14 meeting.
Adviser Griglin said the group will depart City Hall on March 24 at about 10 a.m. by van, aim to arrive in Tallahassee by about 7:30 p.m., check into the hotel and attend a shortened agenda the following day that should allow the delegation to return the same afternoon. Members were told to bring a single suitcase, wear a pullover and slacks (no jeans with holes) and pack a light jacket for cooler weather in Tallahassee.
The adviser said she will send hotel details and emergency contact information to members for distribution to parents, and asked members to arrange drop‑offs rather than leave cars at City Hall because parking is limited. She asked members to notify her of any allergies; she will bring water and a cooler and reminded attendees to follow the itinerary.
Member Skorzak asked about parking for the three‑day period; advisers said drop‑off is preferred and that those who must leave vehicles should inform the adviser so police detail can be told about the license plate.
The Youth Council delegation will travel together and staff advised participants to be prepared for both program sessions and short travel windows so the group can return to the city the evening of the second day if schedule permits.
