Member Skorzak said student government peers who attended asked how to join; Member Muncy and others reported similar follow‑up interest.
Several members suggested improving presentations by adding a concise slide that identifies city elected officials and top administrative leaders so students better understand who makes local decisions. Member Herkulitz said many students did not recognize the mayor or city officials and recommended more emphasis on city government roles.
Members who attended the Cape Charter Schools board meeting and the joint council meeting said the opportunities were valuable learning experiences. Adviser feedback to the council was uniformly positive: city officials told advisers that youth council members communicated well, asked responsive follow‑up questions and made a favorable impression.
The council tentatively scheduled a follow‑up school visit (Island Coast) for April 1, pending confirmation by Member Whitish and the school. Members raised no formal objections to using April 1 as a tentative date and noted they would confirm availability once the absent member responds.
