Churchill County approves $120,179.72 aerial imagery contract with Sanborn

"Aerial imagery is one of the main sources of discovery of new property by the assessor's office," Felton said, explaining that the images are used daily by her office and by other county departments including building, planning and law enforcement. She said the flights were included in the county's 2025 budget but boundary adjustments caused a slight increase over the submitted budget amount.
A commissioner moved to approve the professional services agreement and to authorize the chairman to sign; another commissioner seconded the motion. Commissioners voted by voice and the chair announced the motion carried.
Felton said the 2025 flight will be scheduled to secure an available slot and that a 2026 flight will be included in the 2026–27 budget. She also said the assessor's technology fund has financed aerial photography flights since 2011.
