“Anytime that we have a reduction of force, that certificated employee has a right to have a hearing,” Mr. Cosby said. “And this is agreement with the office of administrative hearings that if it goes all the way to a hearing, that they will conduct a hearing.” He added the district had not needed the service for several years: “We have not had the need for it in the last… 4 years, and so that's why it was not renewed. Now we're — yes.”
After that explanation, the motion carried by voice vote; the transcript shows no roll-call breakdown of the vote.
The board took no further action beyond approving the agreement at this meeting.
