The Duarte Unified School District board approved an extended field trip by voice vote after board members questioned inconsistent dates shown on the event flyer.
Board member Reyes moved to approve the trip; board member Aldine seconded the motion. During discussion, Reyes and other board members noted the flyer lists different start and end dates — showing Nov. 11–13 in one place and a schedule that begins on Nov. 12 and ends on Nov. 14 in another — and asked staff to clarify which dates apply.
Leo, identified in the meeting as the district’s secretary and activities director, told the board the program is on the event schedule and that students only need to register. “They do have that on the program, but the kids all they have to do is register,” Leo said. Leo added that students “just have to show up” on the listed dates.
With that explanation, the board voted in favor by voice; no individual roll-call votes were recorded in the transcript.
The board also noted the arrival of board member Diaz during the field-trip discussion. The board moved on after approving the trip and took no additional public comment on the item.
