Plan commission backs relocation order for Ruger Avenue reconstruction affecting six parcels

On Jan. 20 the Janesville Plan Commission voted unanimously to recommend that the City Council approve a relocation order to acquire right of way and temporary limited easements to support the Ruger Avenue reconstruction project.
Mackenzie Wilcox, an associate planner, told the commission the Ruger Avenue reconstruction is an STP (Surface Transportation Program) urban project and will be a complete reconstruction, including total replacement of curb and gutter, base aggregate and asphalt pavement, addition of marked bicycle lanes, spot sidewalk replacement, storm sewer, water main and sanitary sewer.
