Council approves multiple 2024–25 public works and facilities bids under single motion
Summary
The council awarded several contracts covering roof replacement at the WWTP pretreatment building, water and sewer system improvements, utility structure rehabilitation, street signal work and other projects; council voted 6–0 to approve the bid schedule package.
On Jan. 13 the Janesville Common Council unanimously approved a package of bid awards covering multiple 2024–25 public works and facilities projects.
The package included: EPDM roof replacement at the wastewater treatment plant EdWorks pretreatment building (Bid schedule G 2024, C2024-14); Beloit and State street signals (202416); utility structure rehabilitation and replacement (2025-1); water and sewer system improvements (2025-2); Extension of the metropolitan area network phase 9 (2025-7); Innovation Park phase 1C (2025-8); and Hedberg Public Library air-cooled chiller replacement (2025-11), among others listed as part of the bid schedule. Council members said most bids came in at or under engineer estimates.
Council Member Squire moved approval with a second from Council Member Miller; the motion passed 6–0. No detailed objections were recorded during the vote. Staff indicated the bids were within expected ranges and thanked the project teams.
