Resident urges recording of single-hauler work session; council notes work session will be held upstairs

During the public comment period a Merriam resident, Billy Crone, raised concerns about an upcoming work session on single-hauler collection that was scheduled to occur upstairs where the city's cameras and microphones would be turned off.
"A lot of neighbors are really excited to hear what the city is doing about that, so I'm kinda sad to hear that that's gonna happen upstairs where the city's camera and microphones are off, and citizens won't be able to see that on the city's website and the city's YouTube channel," Crone said, giving his address for the record. He told the council he planned to record the session himself and make it available to neighbors.
The public comment period closed with no further speakers. Council did not take action on the remark during the meeting; staff later noted a work session would follow the meeting upstairs and that the public was welcome to attend.
