Fort Bend County Court at Law No. 1 admitted the will of Heather Renee Rathnall to probate and appointed Ronald Allen Rathnall as independent executor to serve without bond, the court announced on the record.
Ronald Allen Rathnall testified that Heather Rathnall, his late wife, died in August 2024 in Katy, Fort Bend County, at age 66, and that she was domiciled in Fort Bend County at the time of her death. Under oath he identified a document filed with the court—dated November 2022—as his wife’s last will and testified he has no knowledge the will was revoked. He confirmed there were no children born or adopted after the will date and that the will did not name the state or a government agency as a beneficiary.
Counsel asked the court to take judicial notice of the original will in the court file; the court obliged. After hearing testimony, the judge admitted the will to probate and appointed Rathnall as independent executor without bond, and appraisers were waived. The judge expressed condolences to the family.
