Committee members said the most recent STR tally was 69 earlier and that the current count is 67. One member reported, “I think the last account we had was 69 STRs. But I think — that's 67 now.” The committee kept short‑term rentals on the agenda so staff can collect related documentation, including current code and penalties, for a future discussion.
The committee also discussed a municipal code provision that refers to the HCDPA executive director as the person who must sign floodplain engineering reports. The committee was told that the executive director position does not exist in code and that Dominic had been acting as executive director for a project to allow the work to proceed. “This is something that came up with Coloroso. For some reason, it was written in that HCDPA executive director, which is a position that doesn't actually exist, has to sign off on the engineering report,” a committee speaker said. Members agreed that the appropriate place to clarify the requirement is in the code enforcement section and asked staff to draft a code correction so future projects do not stall.
Committee members also noted that a prior discussion regarding RAS withdrawal has moved to the full council and requires no further committee action. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn from Jenny, seconded by Ronnie; no roll‑call vote was recorded and the motion passed on the voice second.
