Wallowa County commissioners enter executive session on personnel, approve agenda

The Wallowa County Board of County Commissioners met March 18, 2025, approved the day's agenda by unanimous vote, entered a closed executive session on the qualifications of an applicant for public employment and the performance of a public employee, returned to open session and adjourned the meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. and Diane (recorder) conducted roll call. Commissioner Kimball moved to approve the agenda "as presented," Commissioner Clayton seconded, and Chairman Fulmer announced the motion carried 3-0.

There were no in-person public commenters; the chair noted one online attendee who remained muted. Chairman Fulmer said, "So we will be moving into executive session for qualifications of an applicant for public employment and performance of public employee until 11:50." The board then recessed to the closed session; the record shows the board returned to open session at about 11:55 a.m.

After reconvening, Commissioner Clayton moved to adjourn. Commissioner Kimball seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Because the room had been muted during the first adjournment call, the board repeated the motion to ensure online participants heard it; a second motion to adjourn was moved by Commissioner Clayton, seconded by Commissioner Kimball and carried 3-0.

Commissioner Kimball also noted the fair board meeting listed on the agenda was scheduled for that evening and said she planned to attend.

No formal public actions related to ordinances, contracts, budgets or land use were taken during the open portions of the session.
