Kittitas County approves chair’s signature for CRAB digital submittal certification

Kittitas County Public Works on Tuesday approved a resolution authorizing the chair to sign the county’s 2024 digital submittal certification to the County Road Administration Board (CRAB).
Ken Curtis, Kittitas County Public Works, told the board the CRAB filing includes three separate certifications — the annual certification, a fish passage certification and a certification of diversion and road fund expenditures of traffic law enforcement — and that the county’s traffic-law information was provided and reviewed by the sheriff’s office and examined by auditors.
The certifications are normally submitted by April 1. Curtis said the state’s GRAMA (public records) electronic submission system was “currently not active” and that county staff had been instructed not to submit the forms until the system was restored. “The reports will be submitted, but I will keep you in the loop,” Curtis said.
Commissioner (name not specified) moved to approve the resolution authorizing the chair’s signature on the CRAB digital submittal certification for 2024; Chair (name not specified) seconded. The motion passed.
The board did not take other substantive action on the certifications at the meeting. Curtis said staff will submit the reports once the GRAMA submission system is available and will inform the board of any updates. He also said CRAB staff indicated the county would not be penalized if the online filing occurred after April 1 because of the system outage.
The item was the only substantive agenda matter discussed at the study session; no citizens attended for public comment.
