Jeremy King and representatives of the East Grand Forks Home Run Club presented a proposal to donate and install a new double batting cage at Stouse Park.
King said the existing single batting cage is in poor condition and the Home Run Club offered to fund two 70‑foot by 14‑foot cages plus concrete slabs and turf. The club estimated the project cost at about $60,000 and asked the city for permission to place the new cages between the driveway and the Babe Ruth field fence at Stouse Park, limited city staff man‑hours to assist with installation if needed, and acceptance of the completed structure as a donation into city inventory.
Council members thanked the Home Run Club for supporting youth programming; King and council members indicated staff would work with the club on logistics and bring any required formal acceptance request back to the council.
