Waite Park park board re-elects officers; longtime liaison announces retirement

The Waite Park Park Board re-elected its officers for one-year terms on Feb. 5 and acknowledged the resignation of longtime park liaison Bruce Meline.
Bill, the outgoing park liaison, told the board that he plans to retire within the next 16 to 18 months and said he has “been sitting on, park board as the park liaison since its inception and feel that this is the right time for me to step down.” The board thanked him for his service.
John Bowden was nominated and re-elected chair for a one-year term. Janice Rain was elected deputy chair, and Roger Bruning was elected secretary and will continue to take meeting minutes. All nominations were approved by voice vote during the meeting.
The board also noted a vacancy created by Bruce Meline’s resignation and invited interested residents to pick up applications at City Hall. The board’s next regular meeting was scheduled for April 2.
No policy decisions were made in this portion of the meeting; the actions were procedural elections and the acknowledgement of the resignation.
