Council approves consent agenda, routine budget adjustment and awards domestic-violence transitional housing grants

Budget adjustment (Resolution 2025-1982): Jim Cox presented the monthly budget adjustments and requested increases of $598,802 in revenues and $707,145 in expenditures to reflect updated collections and grant activity, including additional administrative fees from GRT collections, final costs for a restroom project at Boundless Journey Adventure Park, additional costs for a food-truck installation at Ojo Court, reclassification of PRCA gifts and grants, Title III homemaker funding for seniors, and reimbursable overtime for wildland callouts. Councilor Chiquino moved and Councilor Rogers seconded adoption of Resolution 2025-1982; the motion carried on the council’s voice vote.
Transitional housing and shelter RFP (RFP 25-161543): After a closed session, Jennifer Rowland reported that a proposal opening for grant-funded transitional housing and shelter services for victims of domestic violence produced two offers. The central purchasing department and the evaluation committee recommended presenting both firms to the council for award consideration; Rowland said the awards are contingent upon grant funding and that neither offer qualified for preference under the solicitation. Councilor Chiquino moved to award funding to Navajo United Methodist Center and Masada House; Councilor Rogers seconded, and the motion carried.
