The council authorized an agreement allowing the Village Manager to reimburse the Palatine Park District for contracted grass mowing services after staff described a multi-year partnership and cost savings this season.
Staff said both agencies prefer contracted mowing and the park district has acted as lead agency to pay the vendor with the village reimbursing the park district. The low bidder for 2025 produced savings of more than $14,000 compared with the village’s budgeted amount, staff said, and recommended continuing the arrangement. Staff also proposed maintaining the same cost in 2026 provided contractor performance is acceptable.
Committee members asked no substantive follow-up questions and the committee approved the motion by voice vote; the item was placed on the council consent agenda for final approval.
