The Police Policy and Code Services Committee on Monday voted to continue consideration of a side-yard setback reduction at 1101 South Smith Street to the March 10 meeting so staff can inspect the existing construction and assess whether the structure meets code requirements.
Committee members said they want an inspection to determine whether the existing construction can be retained or if significant rebuilding would be necessary, and they asked staff to return with an assessment and permitting path before formal approval. The petitioner indicated agreement with the continuance.
Separately, the committee approved an ordinance granting rear- and side-yard setback reductions for a building addition at 15 South Road Street. Planning & Zoning reviewed the petition, held a public hearing and unanimously recommended approval; staff concurred.
The committee also voted to approve the transfer of an existing special-use ordinance (referred to in the record as ordinance O-20-20) for the property at 2391 North Hicks Road to a proposed new operator for the Chicago Culinary Kitchen. Staff said the business plan indicated no changes to the special use or conditions, and recommended approval.
