Palatine committees approve street closures and temporary liquor permit for JC’s Hometown Fest

Palatine committees and the village’s Liquor Commission approved temporary street closures, waiver of related fees and a temporary beer-and-wine permit for JC’s Hometown Fest, scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, through Sunday, July 6, organizers said.
The event’s organizers told the Liquor Commission they will set up two days before the official start and that fireworks are planned for July 3 and a parade on Saturday, July 5. A village staff member said Wood Street would be temporarily closed beginning Tuesday, July 1, and that the organizers “were able to work with our police department to, get the fireworks moved to a time that worked for everyone.”
Village staff recommended approval of the street-closure request to the Fire Policy and Community Information Committee. That committee moved and seconded the measure and took a voice vote; members signified approval.
The Palatine Liquor Commission separately approved a class A/E temporary liquor license to allow beer-and-wine sales at Community Park during the Fourth of July festivities. A liquor commission staff member told the commission the event organizer would “comply with the police department checking IDs, but this is a beer sale of beer and wine at Community Park for the, Fourth of July festivities.” The commission voted in favor and the permit was granted.
Casey Siani, who identified herself as a co-chair of the Palatine Junior Chamber and a co-chair of Hometown Fest 2025, thanked the village and commission for approving the permits and noted the event’s scale and volunteer effort. “It’s a signature event for the town,” she said, adding organizers appreciate the village’s flexibility.
Organizers said they plan standard parade and festival operations, and that temporary signage, vendor deliveries and on-site security will follow village rules. The Liquor Commission required compliance with ID checks; the staff reiterated that hours and other liquor-code requirements apply.
The approvals cover the committee/commission permissions described above; organizers and staff indicated additional permits and site-specific approvals will be handled through normal village processes ahead of the event.
