Commissioners approve $5,500 Rosenbaum addendum for expo center paving; ARPA paving contingency to pay invoices

Taylor County Commissioners approved a $5,500 addendum to Rosenbaum Engineering for construction-management services on the expo center paving project and authorized payment from the project’s ARPA paving contingency.
County staff explained Rosenbaum drew the engineering plans and specifications for the parking-lot project and that having the firm provide construction-management oversight would place a technically qualified party between the county and the contractor to manage scheduling, testing and pay applications.
The court discussed funding. Staff said the county could pay the addendum from the ARPA paving contingency and that invoices would be paid as services are rendered. County financial staff noted ARPA interest earnings could offset costs if needed.
Commissioner Statler moved to approve the $5,500 addendum and to pay invoices from the ARPA paving contingency; Commissioner Williams seconded. The motion passed by voice vote, 5–0.
A staff representative said the county will confirm compaction and material specifications in the plans; if specification changes are needed, the county will assess any extra costs before approving contract modifications.
