Commissioners set 45 mph speed limit on County Roads 405 and 644 in Precinct 2

The Tarrant County Commissioners Court voted unanimously March 11 to set the speed limit at 45 miles per hour on County Road 405 and County Road 644 in Precinct 2.
Commissioner Kyle Kendrick told the court residents and homeowners have asked for slower limits because both roads have become cut‑throughs to other regional routes and because new development and subdivisions increase the number of children and nonmotorized users near the roadway. Linda Trueblood and other residents had testified during the meeting about continued deterioration, narrow shoulders and drivers who fail to stop at existing intersections.
Commissioner Kendrick moved the change; Commissioner Williams seconded and the motion passed 4‑0. County staff will publish the new speed orders and post signage at the affected locations.
