The committee voted to allow food‑delivery drivers to use designated rideshare zones and to permit riders with disabilities to request alternate pickup and drop‑off locations. Staff said the changes codify practices already used during the pilot and add minor revisions to parking spaces on Calhoun Street.
City staff presenter Miss Nixon said the amendments are small updates to the program that the city has been operating under since it began. The committee thanked city staff, the police department and legal team for work on the pilot, describing it as “organic” and subject to further adjustments as needed.
The committee made and seconded a motion to approve the two ordinance amendments; the chair called for a voice vote and said, “The ayes have it.” No roll‑call tally was provided in the record.
The chair said the committee will continue to monitor the pilot and can make future changes if the program requires adjustments.
The committee had no further comments and moved on to other agenda items.
