Commissioners also asked staff to provide dimensions and design details for an open-front shed to park gravel trailers and trucks; staff measured vehicle lengths and proposed 60-foot bays with roughly 12-foot spacing to accommodate up to 15 units. The board discussed adding security lighting and power at the yard for fuel pump visibility and safety.
Supervisors recommended advertising a staff position replacement for an employee retiring in March and asked HR to coordinate the job posting and timeline. Staff also discussed vehicle rotation decisions and possible use of piggyback purchasing for new pickups to save costs.
Commissioners directed staff to gather firm quotes and bring back dimensions and prices for the shed and for candidate equipment models so the board can set priorities and timing for purchases.
