In a series of community development actions on March 25, the Grand Rapids City Commission approved multiple infrastructure and construction contracts to replace water mains, remove lead services, rebuild streets and proceed with a new fire training facility.
The commission awarded a contract to Kamminga & Roodvoets Inc. for water-main replacement, reconstruction and resurfacing on Burton Street between Division and Giddings in a low bid of $9,213,896.50 and authorized a total project authorization not to exceed $11,164,691. The project includes replacement of lead service lines (13) and minor storm and sidewalk work.
