Commissioners accept auditor's December 2024 monthly report; sales tax dip noted

Tom Green County Commissioners Court on Feb. 11 accepted the county auditor's monthly report for December 2024.
Mister Craig presented the report and called commissioners' attention to sales-tax collections (the December report posts collections from October). He said October collections were down about $190,000 from the prior year but that November collections returned roughly flat compared with the previous year; staff said it is too early to determine a trend and will continue to monitor collections as the fiscal year progresses. Commissioners accepted the report by motion and voice vote.
Craig also noted larger property‑tax receipts coming in as taxpayers pay their bills and said there were no other unusual variances between budget and actuals to report for the month.
