Ossipee Select Board approves payroll, multiple warrants, tax abatements and appointments

The Ossipee Select Board on Feb. 10 approved payroll and a series of warrants, tax abatements and appointments, including a $7,121,485.67 water and sewer warrant and a motion to forward offered conservation parcels to the town Conservation Commission for review.
The board voted to approve payroll for the week ending Feb. 8, 2025, listing total payroll expense of $87,457.28 and multiple accounts-payable warrants across the general, water and sewer funds. Select Board members also approved clerical tax abatements recommended by the assessor and denied one abatement that the assessor recommended be denied.
In other financial actions the board approved: a water-and-sewer warrant for $11,390; a second water-and-sewer warrant for $7,121,485.67; a separate warrant for $11,667.72; and multiple land-use-change tax assessments of $7,500 each for properties coming out of current use.
The board approved five veterans’ tax-credit exemptions that were recommended by the assessor and approved another veterans’ credit for 52 Bluff Boulevard after assessor review. The board denied an elderly tax-exemption application after the assessor determined it did not meet statutory qualifications.
The board also took several administrative and appointment actions: it approved petition and poll licenses (licenses 450863 and 450864), appointed Phil Volari to the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) within the Lakes Region Planning Commission, and accepted an offer from a property owner to donate multiple parcels to the town for conservation, referring that offer to the Conservation Commission for formal acceptance and placement into conservation.
The board authorized the town administrator, Matt (town administrator), to sign a fireworks display agreement with JPI Pyrotechnics; the board had previously budgeted a $15,000 deposit for the event.
