Applicant Alfonso Hawthorne addressed the council during the public portion and identified himself as representing Candy Shop Nails. "My name is Alfonso Hawthorne and, trying to start a new business out here in the city of Willow Wing. Currently, you did, a nail salon. And, we've been in business for over 15 years," Hawthorne said when asked to introduce himself for the record.
Council proceeded to consider the license later in the meeting and adopted a motion to approve the business license on a roll call vote in which all seven recorded council members voted "Aye." The motion appears in the meeting record as "Motion to approve Candy Shop Nails LLC located at 30825 Euclid Avenue, Unit 2." Hawthorne was present when council approved the license and the transcript shows the council instructed usual licensing follow-up would be handled by city staff.
This action was part of the consent/legislative business conducted during the meeting; the transcript records no opposition or conditions tied to the license approval.
