Willowick law director to step down Jan. 21; council to confirm successor at next meeting

Law Director Stephanie Lampra told the council she is departing the city effective Jan. 21 and thanked the mayor, council and department directors. Lampra said the charter amendment item on the agenda (civil service modification to section 7.3) must be passed to the board of elections by Feb. 4; she noted the ordinance requires council action by the end of the month for that deadline.
Mayor Michael J. Manning said the city is working to identify a replacement and expected the successor to be on the agenda for council confirmation at the next meeting. The mayor and members thanked Lampra for her service and wished her well; Lampra said she will be moving to a county position and appreciated her time with Willowick.
Council did not take a formal vote on the departure itself; the council indicated it expects to confirm a nominee at the next meeting and to handle any related oath or confirmation actions then.
