The New Prague City Council unanimously approved a resolution accepting the donation of four dugout structures for Memorial Park from the New Prague Baseball Booster Club.
Staff said the dugouts are the same design the Booster Club donated for Fondue Hill Park in recent years and that the donor would cover construction valued at about $70,000. Park staff told the council that installing the dugouts would require pushing the infields approximately 10 feet toward the outfield, reducing field length to approximately 270 feet — a dimension the presenter said is consistent with other area communities for softball play. City labor would provide in-kind support for parts of the work; no direct city cash outlay was expected for the donation and installation.
Councilmember Rick moved to adopt Resolution 25021801 to accept the donation; Councilmember Sean seconded. The motion was approved by voice vote.
Staff indicated the plan is to install the dugouts in the fall so they will be ready for the 2026 season.
