Wyoming schedules March 4 work session on retail cannabis; council approves minutes and consent agenda

The Wyoming City Council on Feb. 18, 2025, voted to schedule a work session on retail cannabis for 5:30 p.m. March 4 and approved routine business including the minutes of its Feb. 4 meeting and consent-agenda items 2 through 10.
City staff member Linwood told the council the work session is intended to continue discussion of retail cannabis after “new information” was released by the state; Linwood said the session would be at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4. The council approved the work session by voice vote.
Council action on routine business came earlier in the meeting. Member Anstead moved to approve the minutes of the Feb. 4 regular meeting; the motion carried by voice vote. Member Anstead moved to approve consent-agenda items 2–10; Member Schilling seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote.
All five members present at the meeting — Member Luker, Member Anstead, Member Schilling, Member Jaeger and Mayor Iverson — voted in favor of the motions as recorded in the meeting.
No ordinances, resolutions or final policymaking decisions on retail cannabis were made at the Feb. 18 meeting; the March 4 work session is scheduled for further discussion and analysis.
Meeting context: the council convened with a quorum and handled routine consent items before taking the work-session scheduling vote. Staff indicated the March 4 session is intended to follow up on state-level changes; no formal policy was adopted on Feb. 18.
