Committee introduces resolution affirming legislative prayer practice

Brent Crane, state representative from District 13 in Nampa, described RS 31909 as affirming the longstanding practice of offering prayer before legislative business in the United States and in Idaho.
Crane said he had discussed the matter with Representative Ehart and that the Senate is introducing a companion resolution. “RS 31909 deals with the long standing tradition that we've had in The United States as well as in the state of Idaho of offering a prayer before we do business,” Crane said.
Representative Mickelson moved that the committee introduce RS 31909; the motion carried on a voice vote with the chair calling for “aye” and the motion declared carried.
