The Rockville Centre Union Free School District Board of Education moved multiple policies to Stage 2 and approved a donor gift during the March 27 public work session.
Board members approved advancing policy drafts on information security breach notification (policy 55-80) and other audit- and accounting-related policies to Stage 2 following staff revisions. The board also moved to rescind policy 62-15 (employment of relatives of Board of Education members) after staff identified the content as duplicative of policy 61-11, previously approved.
Superintendent Mr Gavin recommended the board accept a donation of several frames from a donor (thanked in the meeting as Miss Waxman) to create a hallway display showcasing past high school plays and productions. A motion to accept the gift was moved, seconded and approved with an "Aye" vote. The board also moved several consent items (H2 through K8) and adjourned the meeting by unanimous voice vote.
Ending: Motions to advance policies, accept the theatrical display donation and move consent items were approved by voice vote; the board adjourned and scheduled its April 10 meeting at 8 p.m.
