MORAINE — During public comments, a resident raised two neighborhood concerns: extremely bright lights installed at a potato-chip factory that the speaker said shine toward nearby homes, and a red pickup truck parked on Mayes at the corner of Ned that residents say has not moved for months.
The resident asked whether the city could have someone adjust the factory lighting so it aims down toward the parking lot rather than at homes. Council thanked the resident and asked staff to look into possible adjustments and applicable ordinances.
Separately, a councilmember reported that neighbors said the red pickup had been stationary for months and created sight-line concerns for drivers; staff said they would follow up to determine whether the vehicle is operable and take enforcement steps if appropriate.
