Council to seek legislation to update table of organization for firefighter probationary rates

MORAINE — City staff told the Committee of the Whole that City Manager Mike Davis requested a single revision to the city’s table of organization: remove probationary firefighter pay rates from the table and reference the union contract instead.
A staff presenter said the probationary rates are now set in the collective-bargaining contract and asked council to authorize legislation making that one revision. Council approved a motion to have the necessary legislation prepared for the next council meeting by roll call.
No additional changes to positions, head counts or salary ranges were presented during the discussion. The matter will return as a formal ordinance for final council action.
