ROWLETT, Texas — The Rowlett City Planning and Zoning Commission on March 11 approved a final plat for a proposed townhome development and amended the Feb. 25 meeting minutes to correct wording, the commission said at its regular meeting.
The commission approved a final plat for townhomes submitted by Dayton McAtee of McAtee Civil Engineering on behalf of David Streamer. Commissioner Pollard moved to take the consent agenda, including agenda item 3B, and "approve the final plat as requested," and Commissioner Williams seconded. The motion passed unanimously, the commission said.
The vote came after Commissioner Hernandez asked that item 3A be removed from the consent agenda for individual consideration. "I would request, item 3 a be removed from the consent agenda," Hernandez said during the meeting. The commission then returned to consider the minutes from its Feb. 25, 2025 meeting as an individual item.
On the minutes, Hernandez moved to approve the Feb. 25 minutes with a correction to the language in item 4A. The change replaces the phrase "approved consent agenda" in the last paragraph with wording that reflects the chair's account of the motion and vote; the corrected paragraph reads, in part, that an "alternate White made a motion to approve the recommendation to the city council on amendments to Chapter 77-900," and that the motion was denied, 5-0, in the prior meeting. Commissioner Pollard seconded the motion to amend the minutes. The commission approved the corrected minutes 5-0 with one abstention, the record shows.
There were no public comments during the citizens input period. The meeting opened with the chair noting the possibility of an executive session under Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code to seek confidential legal advice, and closed without further substantive public testimony. The chair noted a quorum and adjourned the meeting.
