The Downtown Development Authority for the City of Dawsonville voted to approve an additional order of promotional T-shirts in larger adult sizes 1X, 2X and 3X to support its brochure “gamification” program.
The board approved the purchase after DDA Director Amanda Edmonson reported that brochure participants and local businesses had helped recoup most printing and T‑shirt costs and that staff deposited the last $80 to bring T‑shirt sales up to date. “As of today, we deposited the last, $80 bringing the, t shirt sales, up to date,” Edmonson said.
Board members discussed demand during a brief sizing review, with members noting adults were the primary purchasers and asking staff to include larger sizes. A motion to authorize staff to place an order for the extra‑large, 2XL and 3XL shirts was made by Jonathan Campbell and seconded by Dwight Gilliland. The motion carried by voice vote with all present voting yes.
The DDA did not specify the vendor, unit price, or total expenditure for the additional order during the meeting; Edmonson said the program had recovered most prior costs through participating business contributions. The board directed staff to carry out the order under the authorization voted tonight.
The board handled the T‑shirt authorization as part of ongoing implementation of the brochure gamification program; no additional funding source or appropriation was specified in the motion.
