Lake Stevens swears in Amanda Van Hook as police officer

Amanda Van Hook was sworn in as a Lake Stevens police officer at the March 25 council meeting. The swearing took place during guest business and included the oath to “support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States and the state of Washington, the ordinances of the city of Lake Stevens, and the mission and regulations of Lake Stevens Police Department.”

Staff said Van Hook was hired September 17, 2024, attended the academy beginning November 5, 2024, and graduated March 19, 2025. The mayor and council welcomed her; staff said she will complete a field‑training assignment after two weeks of orientation and will begin patrol field training with a field training officer.
