Frio County commissioners approve routine repairs, grants and contracts; appoint constable

The Frio County Commissioner's Court on a single-day meeting approved a slate of routine procurement actions, grant applications and contract payments and appointed a precinct constable.

The court voted to: adopt the agenda with the removal of action item 7; approve on-call vehicle repair services; authorize multiple equipment repairs and culvert purchases; authorize applications to federal and state law-enforcement grant programs; enroll in a statewide cybersecurity training program and assign an administrator; accept donated funds for an employee event; approve a purchase contract and a 30% down payment for a modular office building; run public auction and sealed-bid notices; sign a meals-on-wheels affidavit; grant a right-of-way easement to Medina Electric Cooperative for utilities at Frio County Pond Park; and add a Medina Electric invoice to bills payable. The court recorded motions and seconds for each item and the judge called the motions approved by voice vote.

Among financial items the court approved repair work and purchases that included: Cooper Equipment repair estimate QT10499 for a 2010 distributor, $12,167.46; TELUS Equipment estimate 03004815 for a JD tractor, $11,124.83; culvert purchases from Texas Corrugators (quotes 1602 and 1603) totaling $4,563 and $4,650 respectively; and a Samsung cybersecurity mitigation grant submission in the amount of $58,885 (submitted by county grant staff for mitigation services).
