The Delhi Township Board of Trustees approved Resolution 2025-34 to establish an annual mental-health checkup program for all police department employees and to authorize service agreements with Pinpoint Behavioral Health Solutions.
Chief (Police) told the board the program was developed after consultation with other departments and training leads: "I kinda looked sideways out a little bit and then educated myself and realized that this is something that we need to do for our people," the chief said. The chief described the program as combining supervisor leadership training and a mandatory annual check-in to identify needs early: "there's also gonna be a mandatory, check-in every year, just to just to check-in with people and to make sure that they're doing good and okay and at home and at work. And then if they need additional assistance, the company that we're going with is actually part of our EAP program."
Trustees moved to dispense with a second reading and adopted the resolution by roll call; the clerk called the roll and recorded votes in favor from the three trustees present. No recorded dissent was made in the meeting minutes.
Officials said the program is intended to be continuous rather than a one-time offering and will include training for supervisors to recognize signs of distress. No program cost or contract terms were presented in the public portion of the meeting record; the resolution authorizes the township administrator to execute the agreement with the vendor.
The board framed the action as a step to support first responders’ well-being and operational readiness. The meeting record does not include the contract value, vendor contract language, or a schedule for when checkups will begin beyond the authorization approved at the meeting.
