Planning commission schedules ethics training for March meeting; public-safety building move-in announced

At the Feb. 13 meeting the planning commission discussed a new state requirement to adopt a code of ethics investigation/enforcement policy and to complete municipal ethics training. The commission reported that the select board passed a code of ethics investigation/enforcement policy and that municipal officials are required to complete the state training and quiz.
Commission members said the training can be completed individually online or as a group. The commission agreed to do the training together at the commission’s next meeting on March 6 so members can complete the video and certificate process as a group and forward certificates to the town contact.
Commissioners also reported that the town’s new public-safety building is occupied by police and fire and that an open house will be planned for warmer weather; in the meantime, public access is limited to the police vestibule and an internal open house date will be set once final work is completed.
The commission also handled routine business, approving the agenda and later approving minutes with a recorded abstention on the minutes vote; the meeting adjourned after the scheduled business.
