The Town of Rutland Select Board voted 4-0 Tuesday to adopt a revised personnel handbook drafted and reviewed by consultant Teresa Mealy.
The handbook update, presented by Mealy and recommended by the board's personnel committee, preserves the town's existing practice of paying 50% of accrued, unused sick leave on separation for employees who have worked more than 12 months. Mealy said the language was clarified to make explicit that the town does not require repayment when an employee has used all front-loaded sick leave before separation.
