Rutland select board re-elects Mary Ashcroft as chair; elects Joe DeNardo clerk

The Town of Rutland Select Board on March 11 re-elected Mary Ashcroft as board chair and selected Joseph (Joe/Joey) DeNardo as clerk during the board's reorganizational meeting.
The board nominated Ashcroft by voice vote and affirmed her as chair for the coming year. The board then moved to elect a clerk; the motion for DeNardo was seconded and carried with four votes in favor and one abstention, the clerk announced at the meeting. The board chair circulated the meeting minutes and orders for signatures after the votes were recorded.
The reorganizational actions are standard annual business for the select board. The clerk and chair will perform duties required by the board through the municipal year and sign routine documents such as payroll and orders as they come before the board.
The board proceeded to approve minutes from Feb. 25 and to consider routine orders and licenses later in the meeting.
