Michelle Van Loan presented the request and Brucey Boonstoppel, Harrison’s mother, described his life, the medical and developmental challenges he overcame and his contributions to family and community. The family asked the council to place a photo and a plaque that includes Harrison’s message and to add signage at the park and at the park approach on New Tampa Boulevard so the dedication is visible to visitors. The council moved to approve first reading and to direct staff to work with the family on plaque language and signage placement; the motion carried unanimously.
