PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio — The Portage County Board of Commissioners on March 20 approved multiple agreements, accepted donations and authorized budget transfers as part of a largely consent-driven business session.
The board unanimously approved contract amendments and service agreements that cover transportation and public-works services; accepted low bids for storm sewer pipe, bridge materials and road liquids for the county engineer; and approved service agreements for correctional, maintenance and construction inspection services, among other items.
The commissioners also approved three cash-donation acceptances to support county programs: donations for Jobs and Family Services’ Child Protective Services “Presence for Kids” campaign, employee fundraising for a JFS committee, and a privately funded Wilde scholarship program. The board authorized several interfund transfers to move child-support and levy resources to the public-assistance fund and approved routine financial steps including processing bills, ACH payments and budget amendments.
