Burns said a fiscal note in the packet indicated no additional state cost (she said she believed the fiscal note was zero) and that Missouri Department of Transportation staff already have funding allocated to perform installation work. "MoDOT's already paid to do the work, so it'd just be a matter of allocating time to installing signs rather than another project they would be working," Burns said.
Committee members raised no objections and the hearing concluded with no recorded opposition. Burns said the language cleanup preserves the intent that the program not produce new fees above the materials cost charged to applicants.
The committee did not take a vote during the hearing.
