At its Feb. 26 meeting the Northampton Community Preservation Committee elected Brian as chair and Chris as vice chair for the spring meeting cycle.
Nominations were made during the meeting and the slate was put to a roll-call vote. Committee members registered their support in a recorded roll-call; several members indicated qualified affirmations during the vote. The slate was announced approved by the chair following the roll call.
Committee members had earlier discussed the chair/vice-chair roles and the outgoing chair said he would be willing to relinquish the role if someone else wanted to serve. Brian accepted the nomination. Chris said he would serve as vice chair "if nobody else is interested."
Roll-call votes recorded during the motion: Jeff — yes; Devin — yes; Julia — yes; Martha — yes; Kevin — (recorded as "Susie, I stick yes" in roll call); Chris Tate — yes; Chris Hellman — "1 half yes, 1 half abstain" (as recorded); Brian — "1 half yes, 1 half abstain" (as recorded). The chair acknowledged the vote and thanked the committee.
No formal challenge or appeal was recorded during the vote. The committee will proceed under the new chair-and-vice-chair slate for upcoming applicant interviews and site visits.
