Staff provided several staffing and program updates at the meeting, including new hires, upcoming events, fuel assistance appointments and usage statistics.
Staff said Emily Higgins has joined as program coordinator (started Oct. 21), Kaye Lutz started as staff assistant on Nov. 21, and Sarah Weber started as principal clerk on Dec. 12. "If you have not gotten a chance to meet everybody, I certainly encourage you to stop by and say hello," the staff member said.
Programming and events noted: multiple winter market dates (two in January, two in February, two in March and one in April), an Arts Night Out event tomorrow featuring photographers Paul Griffin and Rachel Jenkins (artists will be present 5–7 p.m.), and additional Arts Night Out dates on March 14, May 9 and July 11. Staff encouraged volunteers to sign up to represent the center at future arts nights.
Fuel assistance appointments are available from Nov. 14 through April, and staff asked residents to call to schedule. Reported statistics for November and December: 79 orientations, 68 new members and 11 returning members; a daily average attendance of 162; Fridays average more than 200 attendees; and 807 dine‑in and curbside meals over the period reported.
Staff also thanked volunteers and the center’s bistro crew. "Kevin's doing an amazing job as well as all of our volunteers in the bistro, to serve food both here and curbside," the staff member said.
