Seaview Academy reports rising enrollment, statewide transfers and first in-person commencement June 10

Seaview Academy representatives told the Port Angeles School District board on March 27 that the academy's enrollment has climbed to roughly 480 students, with 147 choice-transfer students from districts across Washington and representation from about 42 sending districts.
The Seaview report emphasized steady month-to-month gains, the academy's ORCA values (organized, responsible, communicative, adaptable), and a growing roster of hybrid and in-person enrichment programs. Staff said the program has facilitated about 3,758 Edgenuity courses and is expanding hands-on workshops and hybrid electives.
"We're bringing in students statewide," Seaview presenter Mace said, noting representation from districts such as Olympia and Lynden among recent applicants. The academy reported 66 seniors and said about 36 students intend to graduate through a Lincoln partnership. Mace and staff credited teacher quality and a targeted outreach strategy — including a statewide postcard campaign — for the increase in transfers.
Seaview highlighted new options for seniors who have not met traditional graduation pathways. The district used OSSI grant funds to develop performance-based graduation pathways this year as an alternate route for students who did not meet state test or other standard pathways; the board was told the policy has been approved and is ready to be implemented.
The academy will hold its first in-person commencement at a booked events hall on June 10; the ceremony will be live streamed for families who cannot attend.
Seaview also noted extracurricular and community ties: weekly elementary workshops, volunteer work with Captain Joseph House, and hybrid fine-arts classes such as calligraphy and creative writing to meet personal-pathway requirements.
Board members praised the program's growth. Superintendent Marty Brewer and other board members credited Seaview's model as a district resource and noted it had become a multi-district provider since its 2020 launch.
Ending: Seaview staff said they will continue to refine in-district transfer guidelines, expand hybrid electives and proceed with the first in-person commencement on June 10.
