The Lewisburg Area School District board voted to approve installation of lighting and sound for the high‑school turf field, endorsing staff’s recommendation while holding off on tennis and roadway lighting pending additional funding or donations.
Board members moved and seconded the measure during the business portion of the meeting and approved it by voice vote. The motion was moved by Dr. Graham and seconded by Ms. Krauss. Roll‑call responses recorded the motion as carried with yes votes from Miss Lyons, Dr. Mattis, Dr. Graham, Miss Haines, Mr. Heath, Dr. Jablonski and Missus Cross.
District staff presented options before the vote, noting the recommendation to proceed with turf lighting and sound now and that tennis lighting could be added later as a change order if funds and timing allow. A staff member explained the typical timeline and procurement constraints: "there's a process to getting this approved. There would be probably, like, a 10 week process before it could be installed," and added that a tennis lighting change order could be added in three to four weeks if the district decided to pursue it.
The staff presenter also noted that roadway lighting remains an option that could be pursued separately and that tennis lighting might be eligible for future grant coverage. The board discussed checking quote expiration timelines and coordinating any future change orders with the vendor.
Outcome: motion carried; turf field lighting and sound approved. Tennis and roadway lighting were not approved at this time but remain possible additions.
