During a brief public-comment segment at the presentation, resident Fred Rosen recalled recruiting David to run and presented her with a campaign button, saying she immediately agreed to run and then "went into every condominium along the way, answered questions for people, studied what had to get done." Former commissioner John Shoemaker described David's commitment and cited accomplishments during prior administrations, saying the results "speak for itself" when looking at town facilities and projects.
Commission colleagues offered remarks. Commissioner Goldberg called David "wonderful" and said she had been an encouragement and friend. Commissioner Peters and Vice Mayor Stern echoed thanks and said they would miss her service at the dais but welcomed her continued participation on the planning board. Town Manager Marshall Labadee thanked David for steady leadership and credited her with helping to reduce chaos and set a constructive tone for town governance.
Commissioner David accepted the recognition, saying, "Oh my goodness. This is overwhelming, to be honest," and described the experience of serving as a privilege. The commission showed a video and presented a plaque and crystal.
The presentation included several brief public comments praising David's service; no formal motions or votes were required for the proclamation. The commission noted David will remain active on the planning board.
